BJN Clinical Practice Awards 2008 apply online
The BJN Clinical Practice Awards 2008 are open to any nurse working in clinical practice and can be entered by the individual or through nomination by a colleague.
Entries should take the form of a nomination statement of no more than 1,000 words explaining why the nominee should win the particular category.
Before submitting an online entry, applicants must first obtain a supporting statement of up to 100 words from a manager and/or supervisor verifying that the nominee has achieved everything described in his/her nomination statement. The supporting statement should be completed, together with the contact details of the person giving the statement.

Entry criteria
- Entries are open to any nurse working in clinical practice.
- You can enter yourself or a colleague may nominate you. You may enter one or more categories. Please indicate clearly which category is being entered.
- Each entry should be supported by a statement, of no more than 1,000 words, as to why the nominee should win that particular category.
- Each entry should also carry a supporting statement of no more than 100 words from a manager and/or supervisor.
- A panel of well respected judges, chaired by Sir George Castledine, Consultant Editor of the British Journal of Nursing, will adjudicate.
- Each category will normally have a winner and two runner-up winners.
- In certain circumstances, if the standard of entries is considered not high enough, the judges may elect not to present a particular award.
- Short-listed candidates will be invited to the awards dinner and awards ceremony at the Landmark Hotel, London on Friday May 16, 2008.
- The closing date for entries in all categories is April 14, 2008.
- The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence can be entered into.
